Skagen
Another year has went by
And here we are again
Smiling and greeting each other
With hugs and warmth in our hearts
Some we have seen often
Others we have missed
But all are we together
Again, here in Skagen
The caravans are parked,
The tents are up
In the end we bring out the chairs
And lean back with a smile on our face
A trip to the ocean, over the dunes
With bare feets, walking on stones that cuts
But at last we reach the sand
And the warmth wraps around our feet
Many things are as the always are
Nothing new to find here
Because this is were we forget the daily life
And our worries we leave back at home
Some are looking at birds
Others spend time reading
Others again are practicing their spanish
Not to forget the traditional ludo game
Then a trip to the city
There's room for that too
A lot of things happen here
But we have our usual rutines
First to the dock
The menu says "fish"
Except those who are picky
For them the menu says "chips"
After that we walk to the Ice cream-House
That usual "stop" on our way back
And in the warm light of the sun
We let our bodies get cooled down by the ice cream
Here we are together
But also apart
Because relaxing means
To be quit together
Together we laugh, we joke and we tease
And fight about football, on friendly terms of course
Because different we are, and peculier indeed
But in spite of that we have fun
Together, here in Skagen
